Brain has three parts. They are

It has two parts

Cerebrum - largest part of brain and it is a seat of consciousness, imagination, memory, reason and concentration.

Diencephalon - it has two parts namely, upper thalamus and lower hypothalamus.

Hypothalamus controls sleep, body temperature, water balance, appetite (hunger) and controls pituitary gland.

It has three types.

Pons - Controls facial expressions, respiration, mastication.

Cerebellum - Maintain the posture of the body and balance the body during walking in straight line, riding bicycle.

Medulla oblongata - Control involuntary activites like heart beat, blood pressure, breathing, enzyme, secretion, peristalsis, vomiting.
