The error the student made is that one of the angles must be a right angle(its a right triangle) and there are 3 angles in a triangle the student though there were only 2 angles. the student took 180-58 and got 122 which is incorrect because there are 3 angles not 2.

To find the other angle you take 180 and subtract 90 and 58 from it.

180-90-58=32

the other acute angle is 32°
