Answer: My favorite character is Parris because he is definite about what he wants and needs. Although he may seem like an evil man, he is just about the only rational man in the whole town who cares about his daughter. He knows what actions to take in order to protect his daughter and his position as a minister. He also knows how to use something to his advantage. This is based on my assumption but I think the reason why Parris believed in witchcraft and demonology is to use fear, and mass hysteria, to keep his position.
