1. Distribute your signs. In this case, everything stays the same except - (x+5) (x-7)

(-x-5)(x-7)

2. Now distribute your first set of numbers to your second

-x * x & -x * -7

-5 * x & -5 * -7

you'll end up with x^{2} -7x -5x +35

3. Now combine like terms

4x^{2} + x^{2} -x^{2} = 4x^{2}

-x -7x -5x = -13x

8 +15 -27 +35 = 31

4. Since you can not combine like terms anymore, you have your solution.
