Answer: Decreased hemoglobin

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory disease of the large colon. Findings relating to ulcerative colitis include diarrhea with up to 10 to 20 liquid bloody stools per day, weight loss, anorexia, fatigue, increased white blood cell count, dehydration, hyponatremia, and hypokalemia. Because of the loss of blood, patients with ulcerative colitis commonly have decreased hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.
