How does a light ray change it's path from rarer to denser medium and from denser to rarer medium​

Answer:

When a light ray is incident obliquely from one transparent medium to another, its path undergoes a deviation which is called refraction. This is because light travels at a different speed in different media. The speed of light in the denser medium is less than the speed of light in a rarer medium.
