Answer:

10+2x=4

first, by using inverse operations subtract 10 on both sides.

10-10+2x=4-10

4-10 is -6. whys the 6 negative? because the number takes the sign of the bigge number.

2x=-6

Divide by 2 to isolate x

2x÷2=-6÷2

In multiplication and division one negative sign stays and 2 negative signs cancel eachother but here theres only one negative sign so;

X=-3
