Suppose that the equations of line
C and
D are as follows;


  • C=a_(1)x+b{_1}y+c_(1)

  • D=a_(2)x+b_(2)y+c_(2)

If these two lines are parallel to each other, the following equality must be satisfied.


  • (a_(1))/(b_(1)) =(a_(2))/(b_(2))\\eq (c_(1))/(c_(2))

In summary, the slope of the two lines must be equal to each other.


  • m_(C)=m_(D)

We know the equation of line
C. Then let us form the equation of line
D.


  • C=x+7y-14

  • D=x+7y+c_(1)

We must find the variable
c_(1) by placing the given point
(-3,-1).


  • -3+7(-1)+c_(1)=0

  • c_(1)=10

If we write it in slope-intercept form, the correct answer will be as follows;


  • y=-(x)/(7) -(10)/(7)
