these seem complicated, but just think about what they are asking. they are giving you a point and a slope to a line.

That gives you the hint to use the "point-slope" formula

if you don't have it memorized you might as well start trying to now. You'll need this over and over and over...

y-y1=m(x-x1)

so plug in the given info

y-4= (-1/4)(x-(-2))

y-4 = -1/4 (x +2)

y-4 = (-1/4)x -1/2

y = (-1/4)x + 7/2 this is the slope intercept formula. y = mx +b

we can now graph this line with the slope intercept formula.

note the graph does pass through (-2,4) and has a -1/4 slope :)
