Answer:

larger number = 3

smaller number = -1

Explanation:

x = larger number

y = smaller number

x+y=2

8-2y=4x-2 ---> 10 = 4x+2y

10 = 4x+2y

5=2x+y

y = 5-2x

2x=5-y

x+5-2x = 2

-x+5=2

-x=-3

x=3

3+y=2

y=-1

X+Y=2
8-2X=4Y-2
X=2-Y
8-2(2-Y)=4Y-2
8-4+2Y=4Y-2
4Y-2Y=8-4+2
2Y=6

Y=6/2
Y=3
X+3=2
X=2-3
x=-1

10=10
