Explanation:

Area of the rectangle is length times width

a = (35)(28) = 980

Area of a circle is
\pi r^(2), but this is half of a circle so we will divide the answer by 2

a =
(3.14(14^(2)) )/(2) =
(3.14 x 196)/(2) =
(615.44)/(2) = 307.72

Add the half circle and the rectangle

980 + 307.72 = 1287.72
