A post-1982 penny is made with zinc, but its density is actually greater than that of zinc because ________.

Answer:

even thought pennies had zinc in them, they were greater in density because 2.4% percent of it`s mass was copper. so, while a slight difference, the copper made the pennies greater in density than that of zinc.
