  2. multiply inside the brackets then
  3. 3x^2-9x+x^2-x=50
  4. then arrange then according to power and add or subtract
  5. 4x^2-10x=50 here is your step 2
  6. take 2 common form LHS as
  7. 2(2x^2-5x)=50
  8. then you will get your step 3 as
  9. 2x^2-5x=25.....25 comes from 50/2 and 2 is from LHS
