Answer:

x=-11 & y= 4

Explanation:

y=-x-7

5y+3x=-13

y+x=-7—eqn i

5y+3x=-13—eqn ii

multiply eqn i by 5

5y+5x=-35

multiply eqn Ii by 1

5y+3x=-13

put eqn I and Ii together

5y+5x=-35

5y+3x=-13

subtract

2x=-35--13

2x=-35+13

2x=-22

divide both sides by 2

2x/2 = -22/2

x=-11

put x=-11 into eqn i

y+x=-7

y-11=-7

y=-7+11

y=4

(2) - 3x(1)=>

5y+3x= -13

3y + 3x = - 21

(-) (-) (+)

-----------------------

2y+0=8

=>y=4

(1)=>

y= -x-7

=>x= -y-7
