Answer: x = 4

Explanation:

Let's first look at the equation!

5x-2(2x-1)=6

First thing you do is the -2(2x-1) to break the ( )

So, -2*2x = -4x and -2*-1 = 2

So now we have 5x-4x+2=6

Then you see that there are 2 like terms?

Like terms: the terms that contain the same variable which is raised to the same power.

You can do 5x-4x = 1x!

Now we have 1x+2=

Now we do -2 to get rid of the 2!

We will get 1x=4

Now we divide!

1x divided by 1 giving you x!

and 4 divided by 1 giving you

x = 4!
