Jane solved an equation, but when she checked her answer she saw her solution was incorrect. She knows she made a mistake, but she can’t find it. Where is Jane’s mistake and what is the solution to the equation?

-3(4x - 5) = 6(x + 3) + 10

-12x + 15 = 6x + 18 + 10

-12x + 15 = 6x + 18

15 = -6x + 18

-3 = -6x

= x

when Jane added 12x to both sides, she rested instead off adding up. Also, she didn’t added up the 18 with the 10.

Solution:
-3(4x-5) = 6(x+3) + 10
-12x + 15 = 6x + 18 + 10
-12x + 15 = 6x + 28 **(hre was the prblm)

+12x
15 = 18x + 28

-28
-13 = 18x

/18
-13/18 = x

Answer : x = -13/18
