From perpendicular line, we have m1

Knowing m1 * m2 = -1 for perpendicular lines gives us

-1 *m2 = -1

m2 = 1

Using y-b = m(x-a) with the point provided gives

y-1 = 1(x--5)

y = x+6

Therefore (A) is the correct answer
