y = mx + c

The number of months would be the x axis as that is the thing changing, and the height would be the y axis as that is the thing being measured to change.

That now gives us

H = mM + c

m is the gradient and c is the y intercept

We can figure out the gradient because after 1 month the height increases by 1 so the change in y vs the change in x is 1 so the gradient must be 1.

The y intercept in this case is the initial condition and therefore is 11cm.

H = M + 11
