The standard form of the equation is : x - y = -7

Using the pair of points ;

  • (-4,3) (-5,2)

In standard form ; y - y1 = m(x - x1)

  • m = slope

slope = Change in y / Change in x

Slope = (2 - 3) / (-5 - (-4)) = -1/-1 = 1

Substitute m = 1 , y1 = 3 and x1 = -4 into the equation;

y - 3 = 1(x - (-4))

y - 3 = x + 4

x - y = -7

Hence, the standard form of the equation is : x - y = -7
