When an individual registers sensory input without being aware of the process consciously, Subliminal stimulation occurs.

EXPLANATION- An action potential can be produced by a stimulus of sufficient intensity. However, a stimulus whose strength is less than the threshold won't be able to. Subliminal refers to the stimulus that is received below threshold. To elicit a reaction, there must be a change in the action potential. For example, to trigger a skeletal muscle to contract, the stimulus must be liminal—that is, strong and long enough to result in a depolarization and an action potential. Skeletal muscle fibres in a motor unit will contract when an action potential is obtained as a result of a series of cascading events.

A subliminal stimulus is a type of input that can be perceived and processed in the brain but not conscious awareness.
