Identify a quadratic function in standard form with zeros 5 and -1

x (2) + (2)x - 15 = 0

X=3 and x= -5

(x - 3) = 0 and (x + 5) = 0

Explanation:

Using Vieta's formula

x²-(sum of roots)x+(product of roots)=0

x²-(5+-1)x+(5×-1)=0

x²-4x-5=0

Alternatively,

if the zeros are 5 and -1 then the quadratic factorizes to (x-5)(x+1) Now expand it

x²+x-5x-5=0

x²-4x-5=0
