Explanation:

You can't simplify this equation any further because the bases (a, b) aren't the same.

For example:

You can simplify a^2/a^8 to be 1/a^6

Steps:

a^8=(a^2*a^6)

a^2/a^2*a^6

a^2 ÷ a^2=1

1/a^6

(You can only break the exponent up and divide the quotient if the base is the same!)
