slope:

I used the two points on the graph (0,-5) and (5,-4) The slope is the change in y over the change in x. An ordered pair is given in the form (x,y)


(- 4 - - 5)/(5-0) =

(1)/(5)

or you could just look at the two points. If you start at (0,-5) and go straight up one and the then go right 5 spaces, you will be at the point (5,-4)

The y intercept for the b is where the line crosses the x axis. It crosses at the point (0,-5) The -5 is the b part.
