Answer:

other base = 16.3 yds

Explanation:

the area (A) of a trapezoid is calculated as

A =
(1)/(2) h (b₁ + b₂ )

where h is the height between the parallel bases b₁ and b₂

given b₁ = 7 , h = 12 and A = 139.8 , then

(1)/(2) × 12 × (7 + b₂ ) = 139.8

6(7 + b₂ ) = 139.8 ( divide both sides by 6 )

7 + b₂ = 23.3 ( subtract 7 from both sides )

b₂ = 16.3

the length of the other base is 16.3 yards
