Answer:

x = 9

Explanation:

According to the question,

Perimeter of an isosceles triangle = 37

Length of the base = x

Length of one leg = 4x - 4

As it is an isosceles triangle so length of the other leg will also be 4x - 4.

Perimeter of triangle is equal to sum of all the lengths of the triangle.

\therefore

\rm \implies Length \: of \: base + Length \: of \: one \: leg + Length \: of \: other \: leg = 37</p><p> \\ \\ \rm \implies x + 4x - 4 + 4x - 4 = 37</p><p> \\ \\ \rm \implies 9x - 8 = 37 \\ \\ \rm \implies 9x = 37 + 8 \\ \\ \rm \implies 9x = 45 \\ \\ \rm \implies x = (45)/(9) \\ \\ \rm \implies x = 5</p><p>
