Answer:

Explanation:

Givens

Factor 1: (2/3)a

Factor 2: (3b + 2)

Formula

Multiply the two factors together. You can then remove the brackets.

Solution

(2/3)a * ((3)b + 2) Use the distributive property to remove the brackkets

2/3 a * 3b + 2 * 2/3 a Combine

2*a*b + 4/3 a

Notice when you remove the brackets and multiply 2/3 a * 3b that the 3's cancel leaving you with 2ab

Notice also that when you multiply 2/3 a by 2 you get 4/3a.

The two terms left (2ab and 4/3 a ) cannot be reduced any further. They are not alike.
