Factorise the following
a) x^2 + 3x - 4
b) x^2 - 2x - 3
c) x^2 + 2x - 8​

Answer:

x²+3x-4=0

\ /

-4x²

x²+4x-x-4=0

factor out x for x²+4x and 1 for x-4 we have

x(x+4)-1(x+4)=0

(x-1)(x+4)=0

x-1=0 or x+4=0

x=1 or x= -4.
