Answer : x = 18.9

The figure in the question tab is a right angle triangle

The opposite side is given as x

The adjacent side = 17

x can be calculated using SOH CAH TOA

\begin{gathered} \tan \text{ 48 = }\frac{opposite}{\text{adjacent}} \\ \tan \text{ 48 = }(x)/(17) \\ \text{Cross multiply} \\ \text{x = 17 }\cdot\text{ tan 48} \\ \tan \text{ 48 = 1.1106} \\ \text{x = 17 x 1.1106} \\ \text{x = 18 .9} \end{gathered}
