In a loan database, there are 21 loans to clients with 14 years of business experience. Also, there are 96 loans made toclients with a High School education. In the database there are 111 loans to clients with 14 years of experience or whohave a High School education. How many loans were made to clients with a High School education who also had 14 yearsof experience?

Solution

For this case we have the following info given:

14 yr experience = 21 loans

HS education = 96 loans

14 yr experience or HS education = 111 loans

And we can use the following formula:

14yr OR HS = 14 yr + HS - (14 yr AND HS)

Solving we got:

14 yr and HS = 14 yr + HS - (14 yr OR HS)

14 yr and HS = 21 +96 -111 =6
