1 year = 12 months

2 1/4 years = 12 x 2 1/4 = 27 months

She saved $300 per month:

27 x 300 = $8100 ( total money saved)

She spent 40% of the money she saved on a family vacation.

Multiply by the percentage in decimal form (divided by 100)

8100 x 40/100 = $3240

Subtract that amount to the total money saved.

8100 - 3240 = 4860

Answer : 4860 (option B)
