General rose polar equations are:


\begin{gathered} r=acos(n\theta) \\ r=asin(n\theta) \end{gathered}

a gives us the length of each petal

n gives us the number of petals: if n is odd, then the number of petals = n; if n is even, the number of petals is 2n

So: in your equation, 7 is the length of petals and 4 is the number of petals
