From the data provided, both individual collectors had the following;

\begin{gathered} \text{Alex}=36+95+115 \\ \text{Alex}=246 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} \text{Erika}=82+108+28 \\ \text{Erika}=218 \end{gathered}

ANSWER:

Part A:

(1) Alex collected more shells

(2) She collected a total of 246 shells

(3) That is 28 more than Erika collected.

The answer to (3) above is derived by subtracting the total collected by Erika from that collected by Alex.

Part B:

(1) The kind of shell with the greatest number between both collectors is Clam.

(2) They both have 223 of the Clam shell.

Step-by-step explanation: Alex has 115 Clam shells while Erika has 108 Clam shells. The total of these is

\begin{gathered} \text{Total Clam}=115+108 \\ \text{Total Clam}=223 \end{gathered}
