Percentages
There are two expenses: food and groceries.
Food bill
Jemica spends $68.17 + taxes on food. We know the taxes are the 2% of $68.17. We want to find how much money corresponds to 2%. We have the following equivalence:
2% ⇄ ??
100% ⇄ $68.17
If we divide both sides of the equivalence we will have the same result:

We multiply both sides of the equation by 68.17:

Then, Jemica spends
$68.17 + taxes = $68.17 + $1.36 = $69.53
Groceries bill
Similarly, we have that Jemica spends $18.37 + taxes on groceries. We know the taxes are the 7% of $18.37. We want to find how much money corresponds to 7%. We have the following equivalence:
7% ⇄ ??
100% ⇄ $18.37
If we divide both sides of the equivalence we will have the same result:

Then, Jemica spends
$18.37 + taxes = $18.37 + $1.28 = $19.65
Total bill
Then Jemica's total bill is
food + groceries = $69.53 + $ 19.65 = $89.18
Answer: Jemica's total bill is $89.18
