Let:

2x + 5y = 0 (1)

5x = 4y (2)

From (1) let's solve for x:

2x + 5y = 0

Subtract 5y from both sides:

2x + 5y - 5y = -5y

2x = -5y

Divide both sides by 2:

2x/2 = -5y/2

x = -5y/2 (3)

Replacing (3) into (2):

5x = 4y

5(-5y/2) = 4y

-25y/2 = 4y

Add 25y/2 to both sides:

-25y/2 + 25y/2 = 4y + 25y/2

33y/2 = 0

Multiply both sides by 2/33

y = 0

Finally replacing y into 3:

x = -5y/2

x = -5(0)/2

x = 0

So:

x = 0 and y = 0
