The following diagram shows the graph of the line:

The line passes througt (4,8) and (-12,0) so the slope must be:


m=(8-0)/(4-(-12))=(8)/(16)=(1)/(2)=0.5

And the y-intercept of the graph is at (0,6) so the equation must be:


y=(1)/(2)x+6

Any line with the same slope will be parallel to line L, for example:


y=(1)/(2)x+2

As shown in the graph:
