The first step is to find the slope of lines L1 and L2. The formula for determining slope is expressed as

slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

where

y2 and y1 are final and initial values of y

x2 and x1 are final and initial values of x

For line L1,

x1 = - 2, y1 = 6

x2 = 10, y2 = 2

Slope = (2 - 6)/(10 - - 2) = - 4/12

Slope = - 1/3

For line L2,

x1 = - 3, y1 = 5

x2 = 0, y2 = 6

Slope = (6 - 5)/(0 - - 3) = 1/- 3

Slope = - 1/3

If two lines are parallel, it means that they have the same slope. Since the slopes of lines L1 and L2 are equal, then, they
