p(x) is a cubic polynomial, then if might be expressed as a transformation os a cubic function f(x) = x³.

This transformation is given by:


p(x)=f((1)/(3)x)-3=((1)/(3)x)^3-3

Therefore, p(x) is the function f(x) translated 3 units down and widered by a factor of 1/3.
