We know there is a total of 50 beads. Since a bead can't be two colors at the same time

$P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)$

In this case

$P(R\cup G)=P(R)+P(G)=(7)/(50)+(8)/(50)=(15)/(50)=0.3$

Thus, the probability of selecting a red or green bead is 0.3 or 30%
