Given the following question:

Question two:

A=lw

Since we are solving for w, we isolate the w:

\begin{gathered} a=lw \\ \text{ Divide l on both sides} \\ (l)/(l) \\ (a)/(l) \\ w=(a)/(l) \end{gathered}

w = a/l

Question one:

5s=p

Solve for s, which means we have to isolate the s:

\begin{gathered} 5/5=(\text{cancels out)} \\ p/5=(p)/(5) \\ s=(p)/(5) \end{gathered}

We isolated s, which means s = p/5 is our answer.
