We are given the reaction: 2CO + O2 → 2CO2.

• In order to determine how many moles of CO2 could be produced from 0.05 moles of CO( Carbon monoxide)

• We need to determine the mole ratio first :

2CO + O2 → 2CO2

2 : 1 : 2

0.05moles : 0.025 : 0.05

• We can see that, 0.05 moles of CO will produce 0.05 mole of CO2 , their mole ratio is 2:2 which is the same as 1: 1, they are equal.

Therefore , 0.05moles of CO2 will be produced. option b is correct.
