May needs 3/4 cup of milk for a recipe. Her brother is helping and gives her 24/32 of a cup. Did he give her the correct amount

To find if he gived her the correct amount, we must simplify the fraction 24/32 and check if it is equivalent to 3/4:

We can divide both numerator 24 and denominatior 32 by 2 to get the fraction 24/32 = 12/16

If we divide again both numbers by 2 we will have the fraction 12/16 = 6/8

Finally, if we divide the numbers once more by to, we find the fraction 6/8 = 3/4

Therefore, May's brother gived her the correct amount of milk.
