How do you find the equation of A-line

step 1

Find the slope od the line

we need two points

we have

(0,-3) and (4,1)

m=(1-(-3))/(4-0)

m=(1+3)/4

m=1

step 2

Find the equation of the line in slope intercept form

y=mx+b

where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

In this problem

we have

m=1

b=-3 -------> is given (point (0,-3)

substitute

y=x-3

or

y=(1)x+ (-3)

Part 2

step 1

Find the slope

m=(-9+20)/(1+10)

m=11/11

m=1

step 2

Find the equation of the line in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=1

(x1,y1)=(-10,-20)

substitute

y+20=(1)(x+10)

or

y-(-20)=(1)(x-(-10))
