Lets express these points in a line equation

\begin{gathered} (y-4)/(x+1)=(6-4)/(1+1)=(2)/(2)=1 \\ \text{cross multiply} \\ y-4\text{ =x+1} \\ y=x+5 \end{gathered}

Compare with y=mx+c

We see that our slope is 1 and our y-intercept is 5
