Given

x: distance

x = 402 m

t: time

t = 3.9 s

Procedure

We are going to calculate the minimum speed necessary to win the race.

\begin{gathered} v=(x)/(t) \\ v=(402)/(3.9) \\ v=103.076\text{ m/s} \end{gathered}

As the final velocity was 214 m/s which is greater than 103 m/s.

The drag racer will qualify for the finals
