Part A) As a sum, we can add the area of each little square, so we get

A=2x-3+2x^2-3x=2x^2-x-3

As a product:

A=(2x-3)(x+1)

Part B as a sum

\begin{gathered} A=x^2+2x+3x+6=x^2+5x+6 \\ \end{gathered}

As a product

A=(x+3)(x+2)
