2. At 32 meters from the foot of a tree,the angle of elevation to the top of the tree is 57. What is the height of the tree?

Looking at triangle ABC

C represents the top of the tree

B represents the foot of the tree

We want to determine BC which is the height of the tree

Since the triangle is a right angle traingle, we would apply the tangent trigonometric ratio which is expressed as

tan # = opposite side/adjacent side

tan 57 = BC/32

BC = 32tan57 = 32 * 1.5399

BC = 49.3 meters

Height of the tree is 49.3 meters
