we know that

The volume of a cone is equal to

V=(1/3)Bh

where

B is the area of the base of cone

h is the height of the cone

In this problerm we have

B=12.5 in^2

h=6 in

substitute the given values

V=(1/3)(12.5)(6)

V=25 in^3

the volume is 25 cubic inches

In the other problem

with the radius calculate the area of the base

the base is a circle

so

B=pi r^2

the height is given

so

substitute in the formula and calculate the volume

Find the volume of the pyramid

The volume of the pyramid is given by the formula

V=(1/3)Bh

where

B is the area of the base of pyramid

h is the height of the pyramid

in this problem

we have

B=22 1/2 yd^2 ------> convert to decimal

B=22.5 yd^2

we have

h=6 yd

substitute in the formula

V=(1/3)(22.5)(6)=45 yd^3
