How to calculate the length of sides that’s not measured on diagram

Given the following question:

We are given 2 sides of a rectangle 9 and 12. We are only given half of the total length of each side we know this because the line seperates the sides in half.

So if we know that the sides are sliced in half:


\begin{gathered} 9*2=18 \\ 12*2=24 \end{gathered}

12 is equal to 24

9 is equal to 18, and because the corresponding sides are equal in length it will be the same for the opposite sides.

So..

12 - 12

9 - 9

12 - 12

9 - 9
