Solution:

The slope of a line gives the steepness of the line.

It is evaluated as


\begin{gathered} m=\frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}} \\ =(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \end{gathered}

The higher the slope value, the steeper the slope.

Thus, a slope of 999 will have a nearly vertical line.
