The formula for the distance between two points is

d=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1_{})^2}

So, in this case, you have

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(8,1) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(3,6) \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(3-8)^2+(6-1)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{(-5)^2+(5)^2} \\ d=\sqrt[]{25^{}+25} \\ d=\sqrt[]{50} \\ d=7.071 \end{gathered}

Rounding

d=7.1

Therefore, the distance between points V and W is 7.1 units.
